Statistical Literacy and Gapminder Desktop

Hans Rosling a Professor of Global Health is a remarkable thinker. If you haven't already viewed his talks on using data to make sense of the world now is the time to check them out. You will be changed by the experience.

Rosling's Gapminder software changes the way we understand our world - it explodes assumptions and exposes trends. It brings data alive. A desktop version of the stunning data visualisation tool Gapminder World is now available for free download.

I suggest you take advantage of this opportunity and let your students fall in love with statistical representation.

I highly recommend Gapminder as an essential tool to use in enhancing your understanding (and your students' understanding) of what statistical literacy.
